January 15th: End of Course Exams
February: 23rd ACT
March 12th: WIN career assessment
April 27th: SAT
Due to the virus, college campus tours are currently virtual. If you would like to participate in one, please contact one of the School Counselors!
Visits from military recruiters: Recruiters from different military branches will be here to present and go over career results from their ASVAB and how they can apply to future opportunities.
Fall and Spring semester: The Counselors will meet with students and parents/guardians to complete an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). Discussions focus on academic progress, college selection process and career plans. This can be done in person or virtually.
September is national suicide prevention month-Please stop by the School Counselors office to see the display and learn about how we can help others in our community.
FAFSA: The FAFSA will open on October 1, 2020. MMC partners with the Educational Opportunity Center to help guide students and parents/guardians to complete their FAFSA. The sooner you complete this, the better! Please contact a School Counselor for assistance. MTC is hosting virtual sessions this school year.
October is College Awareness Month: During October, the School Counselors will provide different presentations and opportunities such as the ASVAB, virtual college visits, and college application day which is October 21 & 22.
Career field studies: Based on the feedback of the students interest, virtual or in person career field studies will take place throughout the school year.
MTC Accuplacer: The placement test for Midlands Technical College is an ongoing opportunity all school year long. Please see a School Counselor to take advantage of this great opportunity that can lead to free college courses!
